How are visual acuity and daily activities affected by visual impairment? Previous studies have shown that vision is altered and impaired in the presence of a scotoma, but the extent to which patient-specific factors affect vision and quality of life is not well understood.

Ethan Fook is a fourth-year undergraduate student at UC Santa Barbara majoring in biopsychology. He is interested in the neural mechanisms underlying brain function, as well as the intersection of neuroscience and technology to better understand and treat those with visual impairments.
Outside the lab, Ethan enjoys playing basketball and listening to music. He is also passionate about community service and leads a college chapter of a non-profit that provides tutoring for K-12 students.
