Justin Kasowksi transferred to UC Santa Barbara in 2016 after receiving associates degrees in Biological Sciences and Chemistry from Santa Barbara City College. In 2018, he graduated UCSB with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.

He is pursuing his PhD under Dr. Michael Beyeler in the Bionic Vision Lab, where he utilizes virtual reality and computer vision to model the perceptual experience of retinal prosthesis patients.
